| Centennial,
in Arapahoe County, officially became a city on February 7, 2001, and currently has a population of 103,000.
As one of the largest newly incorporated cities in America, Centennial is
unusual in that private citizens and businesses are in charge of many of
the public services and other governmental duties. As such, the
government is very small. The motto of the people of Centennial is: "Govern yourselves, or somebody else will."
Prior to incorporation, Centennial was a well-established and affluent neighborhood of Denver. Homes here are well-established, especially on the west side of the city.
The schools are one of the most secure, and safe in the country. Located
on the south side of Denver, the commute is fairly simple. Skiing is the number pastime of folks, but
mountain climbing, hiking, trail riding, and other outdoor activities
abound. i |
