Santa Fe is a lovely cultural capital at the base of the Sangre De
Cristo Mountains. The high desert makes for a mild 4-season climate. It

numerous restaurants as well as a variety of cultural events, performing
arts and year round outdoor recreational opportunities from hiking and
skiing to river rafting and fly fishing. Tourism, the city's primary
"industry" brings about 1.3 million visitors annually. These tourist
dollars support a large art market, as well as museums, great
restaurants and charming boutique shops well beyond what would be
expected in a city with a population of about 75,000. Santa Fe enjoys
much of the sophistication of larger cities, yet retains a "laid-back"
attitude.
